Writers wanted - SAIL FOR GOLD

 

The RYA has commissioned a new publication, Sail for Gold , which will be the official guide to Skandia Team GBR in the lead up to the 2008 and 2012 Olympics.  Seascape Media Ltd, who will produce it,  describe it as a "bookazine" type of publication and expect the launch issue to go on sale in March 2007. Meanwhile, Seascape Media Ltd is looking for writers to cover the following subjects in the immediate future:

1. Olympic and Paralympic class overview, including interviews with selected runners and riders          

2. Introduction to Quingdao as a sailing venue

3. Logistics of getting boats and sailors to international venues, plus overview of key international Olympic classes events in run up to 2008

4. Introduction of key support team members and team manager, Stephen Park

5.  Interview with Shirley Robertson, charting her Olympic participation and hopes for the future, plus her view on the changes in sailing as an Olympic sport over the years

6.  Dummies guide to Olympic racing

7.  Nutrition – importance of nutrition to sailors and behind the scenes look at how nutritional needs of different sailors differ according to class and weight requirements

8.  49ers – briefly, an introduction to the class as an Olympic class and the impact it has had on outsider's perspective of our sport, plus a detailed look at the top performers in this class and the extremely tight competition for Olympic qualification

9.  A preview of the developments for London 2012 and intro to some up and coming youth talent
